We'd like to share with you our very own Tattie Soup recipe – an economical and hearty meal for those cold, winter days.
All of the ingredients used in our delicious Tattie Soup are available in our shop, The Dairy, and if you are looking for something to go along with it, we think it is very well complemented by our own Mitchell's oatcakes.
PS. If you are going to make the Tattie Soup, you might as well make a big pot, because let's face it, second day soup is always better!

Ingredients
- 2kg Potatoes
- 4 Large Carrots
- ½ Small Turnip
- 1 Large Onion
- 8oz Boiling Beef
- 2 Stock Cubes – Beef or Vegetable
- 1 Finely Chopped Leek
- Seasoning
Method
- Peel all vegetables. Place in a large pan and add beef and stock. Fill the pan with water.
- Bring it to the boil.
- Simmer for approximately 1.5 hrs
- Take the beef out.
- Blend the vegetables with stock to a consistency of your liking.
- Chop the beef into pieces before putting them back in the pan.
- Add leeks and simmer for a further 5–10 minutes.
- Season to taste
