Is it worth crying over spilt milk, when it's stolen from your doorstep?

We are sad to say that yesterday, some of Mitchells' Dairy loyal customers were victims of theft. At Mitchells, we pride ourselves in the service we provide our customers and make sure that even in the event of a crime, we will always try to ensure we provide the best customer care possible.

Reports were made that five of our customers, living in the same street did not receive their milk yesterday morning. However, when our delivery driver confirmed that the milk delivery was made to each customer, we discovered that the milk had in fact been stolen. As yet we do not know exactly how it happened but we wanted to highlight that what may have been a practical joke or prank carried out by inconsiderate individuals, is in fact a huge inconvenience to those affected. Although this may have been considered a fun joke to the culprits, there are many knock on effects that stealing someone's milk has.

Firstly, the customer who normally wakes up to milk on their doorstep would be without their milk, which in most cases is used for their first cup of tea and breakfast in the morning. A large proportion of our customers are elderly and having their milk stolen is extremely upsetting as they may not be very mobile and aren't able to 'nip out' for a replacement, meaning they are without breakfast. Secondly, the fact that someone has stolen from their doorsteps, could leave them feeling uneasy about the thought of someone taking their milk from their doorstep.

This is the last thing we would want for our customers. As we mentioned, customer care is very important to us and due to the milk being stolen, we at Mitchells had to re-deliver the milk. This then had an effect on our staff resources as the time to taken to redeliver the milk was taken away from the duties of running Mitchells Dairy. The police have been contacted and reports have been made, however, it does not take away from the fact that the pranksters have caused a lot more trouble than they anticipated.

So if you think this type of prank is a bit of innocent fun, then think again. As we have highlighted there are many knock on effects to this stupid act. We would like to thank the police for their time in this matter and we would also like to thank to our staff for re-delivering the milk to those affected. Would especially like to offer our apologies to our customers who had their milk stolen and would like them to know that we hope that this doesn't happen again.
